Crawford Called Up To AAA Albuquerque

Former Wilton All-State pitcher Alec Crawford was called up to AAA today by the Colorado Rockies.  Crawford will stay with the Albuquerque Isotopes for one week.
ALBUQUERQUE, NM — 2010 Wilton High School graduate, and former University of Minnesota Gopher pitcher Alec Crawford has been called up to AAA this morning.  Crawford, who was drafted by the Colorado Rockies last summer in the 25th round of the Major League baseball draft, reported to Albuquerque to join the Isotopes for today’s game against the Sacramento River Cats.
Crawford pitched for the short season rookie team Grand Junction Rockies last summer where he had a team leading 9 saves in 12 save opportunities.  He pitched in 24 games and pitched in 24 and ⅓ innings.  He struck out 22 batters and walked just three.
Crawford is said to be with the Isotopes for a week and could get a couple appearances out of the Isotopes bullpen.  He will wear number 26.
Albuquerque has a record of 15-24 so far this season and is managed by former Major League baseball player and former Chicago Cubs player Glenallen Hill.
After his time with the Isotopes, Crawford will be sent back to extended spring training in Arizona.  Crawford will then wait for assignment to another team while continuing to work out at the Rockies facility.
