Kaeding was a first team All-American in 2002 and 2003, and was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played nine years in the Chargers organization and retired as one of the most accurate NFL kickers of all-time (86.2 field goal percentage, 99.4 PAT). He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2006 and 2009, and named first team All-Pro in 2009. He was named to the ESPN.com and Pro Football Weekly All-Rookie team in 2004.
Kaeding will accompany the Iowa captains to the center of the field for Saturday’s pregame coin toss. He will also be with the Hawkeyes in the locker room before and after the game.
