West Branch Native Named MVC Lineman Of The Week


Rummells Earns MVC Honor

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Senior left tackle Jack Rummells has been named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, it was announced today by league officials. 

This is Rummells first MVFC Player of the Week honor. Rummells is the 15thPanther chosen for the distinction since offensive line coach Rick Nelson took the reins in 2000. 

Rummells has started in all nine games this season at left tackle as an anchor for the UNI offensive line. In the Panthers’ 42-28 win over No.6 Illinois State, the West Branch, Iowa native graded out at a 90 percent.

He was an integral part in creating holes for running back David Johnson, who gained 129 yards on the ground against the Redbirds. The offensive line also only allowed four tackles for loss against the Redbirds. 

The Panthers will return to action Saturday, Nov. 8 when they host No. 1 North Dakota State. The game will kick off at 4 p.m.
