Kernels To Host 2016 Midwest League All-Star Game

Some of the best prospects in the low-A minor league baseball league will come to Cedar Rapids this summer for the Midwest League's annual All-Star Game.
Cedar Rapids, IA - For the first time since 2004, the Cedar Rapids Kernels will host the Midwest League All-Star Game at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, June 21st. First pitch will be at 6:35 PM with the gates opening at 5:00 PM.
A full evening of entertainment is in the works, including a pre-game home run derby and post-game fireworks show. Individual game tickets for the 2016 Midwest League All-Star Game will go on sale Monday, March 14th by calling the Kernels Ticket Office at (319) 896-7560 or online atwww.kernels.com. All-Star Game group outing packages are on sale now - more information is available by calling the Kernels at (319) 363-3887 during normal business hours (9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday).
The Kernels are also pleased to announce they will partner with the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Convention Center in downtown Cedar Rapids as the Official Hotel of the 2016 Midwest League All-Star Game.
A line of special All-Star Game merchandise is being developed with the first items available for sale when the Kernels Bimm-Ridder Diamond Shop opens for the holiday season on Monday, November 30th at 10 AM. All-Star Game items will also be available through the Kernels Online Store atwww.kernels.com.
Since the Midwest League All-Star Game rotates each year among the 16 MWL clubs, the Kernels are not scheduled to host the All-Star Game again until 2031.
The Kernels open the 2016 Midwest League season at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Thursday, April 7th against the Quad Cities River Bandits. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM.
