Spahr Sets School Record In 110-high hurdles At Bellevue

  BELLEVUE — It was a big night for the North Cedar Knight boy’s track team. A school record fell and the Knights placed in the top-3 in the final team standings. North Cedar senior Treat Spahr set the school record in the 110-meter high hurdles at the Bellevue Comet Relays last Friday. There, Spahr ran to a third-place finish in the event, 15.68. The time set a new school record in the event. Spahr also placed third in the 400-meter hurdles in 58.0.

  North Cedar held their own at the meet, scoring 76 team points. The Knights won three events at the meet including two relays and an individual event. Greg Hansen won the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.59. Hansen added a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash in 11.19.

  North Cedar got 20 points from two winning relay events. The Knights sprint medley relay and their 4X100-meter relay events each placed first. The North Cedar sprint medley relay team of Miles McCullough, Evan Patterson, Greg Hansen, and Seamus Raney won the event in a time of 1:39.28. The time set a new Comet Relays record. The Knights 4X100-meter relay team of Greg Hansen, Seamus Raney, Treat Spahr, and Miles McCullough won in a time of 45.19.

  Other top finishes came from Seamus Raney in the 400-meter dash where he placed second in 53.97 and Cade Wendt who placed 4th in the shot put with a best throw of 43-11. Owen Meyer placed third in the discus with a best throw of 142-feet, 8.5 inches.
