The Knights had two runner-up finishes in relay events. The Knights sprint medley relay team of Miles McCullough, Evan Patterson, Greg Hansen, and Seamus Raney were second in a time of 1:39.64. North Cedar also got a second place finish from their shuttle hurdle relay team of Ethan Sahr, Miles McCullough, Dragon Cinkovich and Treat Spahr in a time of 1:05.08.
In individual events, North Cedar had four, top-3 finishes. Treat Spahr collected two high finishes with a second in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.46 and third in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.39. Greg Hansen placed third in the 200-meter dash in 23.72 and Seamus Raney was third in the 800-meter run in 2:08.33.
Owen Meyer had the top field event result with a 5th place finish in the discus. Meyer had the best throw of 145-feet, 10 inches.
Knights Third On Girls Side With 77 Points
SOLON — The North Cedar girls track team placed third at the Denny Gruber co-ed relays. North Cedar scored 77 team points and won two events at the meet. The Knights did not compete in five events at the meet. They were the 400-meter dash, 400-meter hurdles, and three relays, the 4X800, shuttle hurdle relay and distance medley relay.
North Cedar senior Darby Hawtrey won the high jump with a best jump of 5-0. North Cedar’s other win came from its 4X200-meter relay team of Cassie Cox, Hawtrey, Lexi Crist and Grace Proesch. The quartet won the event in a time of 1:49.75.
North Cedar had success in the field events, with two events getting two, top-5 finishes. In the shot put, Leah Crock was second and Nicole Sander was third. In the discus, Callie Meyer was third and Sander was fourth.
The Knights were runners-up in two relays. The 4X400-meter relay team of Kelly Proesch, Cox, Tessa Fields, and Grace Proesch were second in 4:11.13. The sprint medley relay team of Kelly and Grace Proesch, Cox and Crist were second in 1:51.81.
