Wildcats Can’t Catch Cougars in loss

 CASCADE — The Cascade Cougars took an early lead in the rst inning of their RVC cross-division match-up against Durant on July 8, scoring three runs. That early lead held up, as the Cougars beat the Wild- cats 7-2. The loss snapped a three-game win streak for the Wildcats. Durant ended the regular season 12-11.
 Nate Dierickx took the loss after starting and working 3 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked four and gave up six runs on three hits. Only one- run was earned. Ethan Gast pitched the nal 2 1/3 innings in relief and gave up one run.
 Durant cut Cascade’s lead to 3-1 with their rst run of the game in the top of the fourth inning. Cascade would drop three more runs on the scoreboard in their half of the fourth inning to extend their lead to 6-1. Each team would add another run in the game to set the nal at 7-2. Durant had seven hits in the game. Jake Willkomm was 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored. Drew DeLong, Ben Orr, Brendan Paper, Keagan Head, and Lucas Callison each had hits. Durant had three doubles in the game, one each from De- Long, Paper, and Keagan Head.

Golden Hawks Beat Knights 13-2 In 2019 Home Finale
 LOWDEN — The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks scored four rst inning runs on their way to a 13-2 win at North Cedar in ve innings on Wednesday,
 July 10. North Cedar dropped to 1-5 against River Valley Conference South teams this year. The Knights only RVC South win was against Durant. The Knights did not play West Branch, due to weather.
 Ethan Sahr started and took the loss. He gave up all four rst inning runs. Taden Lange and Chase Miller pitched in relief. North Cedar had three hits in the game from three di erent players. Jacob Wagner, Devon Willis, and Gage Walshire accounted for the Knights hits in the game. Ethan Sahr, Jax- on Sander and Taden Lange all reached base via a walk. Walshire drove in both North Cedar runs and had a double.
