BTN to Provide Extensive Coverage of the 2016 Big Ten Fall Championships & Tournaments


CHICAGO, Ill.  – BTN will provide extensive coverage of the 2016 Big Ten fall championships and tournaments, including live broadcasts and streams of the Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament, Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Soccer Tournaments and the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships.
                                                                                        
Championship coverage starts off with live coverage of the Big Ten Cross Country Championships, hosted by Minnesota, at 11 a.m. ET on Oct. 30. The Big Ten has a four nationally ranked men’s teams, including No. 14 Michigan, No. 18 Wisconsin, No. 19 Indiana and No. 29 Michigan State. On the women’s side, three Big Ten teams are ranked in the top 30, including No. 6 Michigan, No. 9 Penn State and No. 27 Michigan State.

BTN’s women’s soccer tournament coverage also begins on Oct. 30 with quarterfinal coverage at 4 p.m. ET. Live coverage of the semifinal round will begin at 3 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 4, with the second game to follow at 5:30 p.m. ET. The championship game will air live at 2 P.M. ET on Sunday, Nov. 6. Minnesota, Northwestern and Penn State are ranked No. 11, No. 20 and No. 21, respectively.

BTN will also provide live television coverage of the quarterfinals, semifinals and final of the Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament at Maryland. Live coverage of the quarterfinal round will begin at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 3, followed by three more games at approximately 12:30 p.m. ET3 p.m. ET and 5:30 p.m. ET. Live coverage of the semifinal round will begin at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 4, with the second game to follow at 3:30 p.m. ET live on BTN2Go and delayed on the linear network. The championship game will air live at noon ET on Sunday, Nov. 6.Five Big Ten teams appear in the top 20 of the  latest national poll, including No. 3 Maryland, No. 6 Penn State, No. 10 Northwestern, No. 11 Michigan and No. 15 Iowa.

Finally, BTN will televise a quarterfinal match, both semifinals and the final of the Big Ten Men’s Soccer Tournament. The quarterfinal matches will take place on campus sites, with the semifinals and finals being held at Grand Park in Indiana. The last quarterfinal game on Sunday, Nov. 6, will air at 4 p.m. ET, while the semifinals will air live at noon and approximately 2:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 11. The final will be carried live at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 13. Maryland is the top-ranked team in the nation, followed by No. 10 Indiana, No. 13 Michigan State and No. 24 Wisconsin.

All the games can also be streamed via the web, smartphones, tablets and connected devices on BTN2Go, BTN’s digital extension.
