Ashley (Miller) Carreon To Be Inducted In IATC Hall of Fame

AMES — 2008 (Check ON Year!) Tipton graduate Ashley (Miller) Carreon is one of five 2017 Iowa Association of Track Coaches Hall of Fame inductees for the 2017 class.  
Iowa’s only 15 time state track and field champion: 4-time Distance Medley Relay, 4-time 800-meter, 2-time 1500-meter run, 2-time 4x400, 1-time 3,000-meter, 1-time 400-meter dash and 1-time 4X800-meter relay champion.  She holds the 2A state meet record in the 800-meter dash (2:12.12).  Tipton also won the 2A girl’s track and field team title all 4 years of her high school career.  Miller won three Drake Relays 800-meter titles. She ranks #10 All time in the 800-meter run (2:10.10).   
In cross country, she placed in the top-5, individually, all four years (2nd, 1st, 5th, 1st) and led Tipton to four consecutive 2A girl’s team titles.  Miller went on to be a B10 champion and earn All American honors at the University of Nebraska.  She is now a registered Bariatric Dietician in Oklahoma City, is married to Jazz Carreon, and is one of the top road racers in the Midwest.

Other inductees in the 2017 class are Laverne Kloster Service Award, Steve Lynn; Coach - Randy Peters from Davenport Central and past athletes Isaac Wendland and Randy Elliott from Charles City.
