Knights place 8th at Marion Invitational


MARION — The North Cedar Knight girl’s track team placed 8th at the 10- team Marion Invitational last Thursday. The Knights scored 32 points at the meet. DeWitt won the meet with131teampointsfol- lowed by Marion in second with 102 and Mid-Prairie in third with 82 points. Another River Valley Con- ferenceschool,Monticello, placed 5th with 59 points. North Cedar did their most damage in eld events at the meet, scoring 27 of their 32 team points in those events.
Nicole Sander won the only North Cedar event at the meet, winning the shot put with a best throw of 37- 03. Sander added a third place nish in the discus, throwing a best distance of 96-feet, 9 inches. Cal- lie Meyer was fourth in the discus with a best throw of96-06.MariahBehrens scored one-point, with a sixth place nish in the shot put with a best throw of 33- 02.5. Aubrie Pruess tied for second in the high jump with a best jump of 4-feet, 6 inches. The Knights best nish in a running event, came from a fourth place nish in the distance med- ley relay.
Chapman, Cox, and Proesch lead Knights at Anamosa Co-Ed
ANAMOSA — The North Cedar Knights began a busy week last Tuesday, April 25th at Anamosa at the Raider co-ed meet.
North Cedar was led by Ki- ley Chapman, Cassie Cox and Kelly Proesch who combined to score 52 of the Knights 80 team points at the meet. North Cedar placed third behind meet champion Mount Ver- non and runner-up Ana- mosa with 134 and 125.50 points.
Individually, Chapman and Proesch each won an event. Chapman won the 3,000-meter run in 11:42.71 and placed third in the 1,500-meter run in 5:19.87. Proesch won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.92 and was the runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:09.72. Cox placed third in the 200-meter dash in 27.23 and fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.77. NorthCedarhadtwo,top-3 nishes in relay events. The Knights 4X100-meter relay team of Andrea Wa- chendorf, Cox, Kassidie Galloway and Proesch were second in 53.21. The Knights sprint medley re- lay team of Wachendorf, Galloway, Proesch and Cox placed third in 1:55.61.
In eld events, Callie Meyer led North Cedar with a 3rd place nish in the discus while Aubrie Pruess placed 5th in the high jump.
