DURANT — The Wilton
boy’s golf team captured the
sectional title on their home
course last week to advance to
this Friday’s district meet, at
Wapello.
The Beavers shot a team low score of 335 to place rst at the Class 2A meet. Van Buren was next as the runner-up with a team score of 349. Due to Wilton being the host school,
a third team reached Friday’s district meet. That team was Mediapolis which shot a team score of 378.
Wilton senior Jared Townsend was the medalist at the meet with a score of 80 for the 18-hole meet. Teammates Brock Hartley and Brayton Wade also were in the top-5. Hartley placed third with a score of 82 while Wade placed 5th with a score of 85. Clayton Bruckman was the medalist runner-up with a score of 82.
Taran Nelson from Danville was and Jadon Hawk from Central Lee were individual quali ers after shooting 87 and 88 respectively.
