Knights play at Durant Invite


DURANT — The North Cedar girls golf team placed 8th last Friday when they traveled to Wahkonsa Golf Course. There, Tipton shot a team-low score of 380 to capture the title.
Parker Stout led North Cedar scores with a 95 for 18 holes. Stout shot a score of 46 on the rst nine holes and 49 on the sec- ond nine holes. She placed fth overall in the medalist race. Stout shot one-under par on one hole, par on three holes and one over par on six holes at the tournament.
Tipton had the top-2 individual scores at the meet with Alli Nash claiming the med- alist honors with a score of 85 and Addy Duwe close behind with a score of 93. Monticello was second in the team race with a team score of 394. The Panthers had the third, eighth, and tenth best indi- vidual scores. Tipton recently won an in- vite at Kalona. Wilton placed fourth with a team score of 417, Durant was 6th with 431 and North Cedar was 8th with 436 points.
Other Knight scores were Lydia Esbaum 99, Carly Meier 115, and Macy Helmold 127. Esbaum shaved three strokes and Helmold seven strokes from their rst nine-hole scores to their second nine-hole scores.

Knight boys play at West Liberty
WEST LIBERTY — North Cedar was one of four area golf teams to play at the West Liberty Invitational last Tuesday. There, North Cedar placed 10th with a team score of 386. DeWitt won the meet with a team score of 318, West Branch was second with a score of 325 and Clear Creek-Amana was third with a score of 340.
North Cedar was led by Costener Pruess and Cameron King with scores of 91 and 92. Pruess shot a score of 48 on the rst nine and shaved o ve strokes on the second nine holes with a score of 43. King shot scores of 44 and 48.
Other North Cedar scores were Chase Miller 97, Chase Gallagher 106, Ethan Sahr 118, and Taden Lange 127. Miller, Sahr and Lange each lowered their second nine-hole score from their rst nine-hole score.
