CASCADE — The North Cedar boys track
team were to run in two meets last week,
but their meet at Northeast on Monday,
April 22 was cancelled do to poor weather.
The Knights would run in their only meet
last week on April 25 at the Cascade co-ed.
There, the Knights placed 6th in the team
standings out of 11 teams. North Cedar
scored 44 team points at the meet.
Kael Unruh won the only North Cedar event at the meet, winning the long jump. Unruh jumped to a best distance of 19- 10.0.
North Cedar had two relay events place in the top-5. The Knights 4X100-meter relay team of Chance Cinkovich, Evan Pat- terson, Skyler Darts, and Gage Walshire placed fourth in a time of 51.95. The Knights placed fth in the distance med- ley relay event. The team of Devonte Crist, Patterson, Darts, and Jacob Spahr placed fth in a time of 4:34.73.
In individual events, Milo Easterly’s 5th place nish in the 3,200-meter run and sixth place nishes by San Choate in the 800 and Unrun in the 100-meter dash game the Knights their top nishes.

STANWOOD — The North Cedar boys track and eld team hosted a ve-team invitational last Tuesday, April 23. There, the Knights scored a season high 152 points and were second to meet champion Tipton. The Tigers won the meet with a team score of 172 points. Maquoketa was third with 142 points followed by Midland with 84 and Wilton with 74 points.

a pair of runner-up nishes in individual
events. He was second in the 100-meter
dash in 11.68 and second in the 400-meter
dash in a time of 56.03. Both were season
best times in those events for him. Un-
ruh’s 100-meter time supplanted his best
time of 12.01 on April 2 in a meet at Durant
and his time in the 400-meter dash was
the rst time he has recorded this season
in the event. Unruh also placed third in
the 200-meter dash in 24.88.
North Cedar had a lot of success in the eld events. Jacob Sander placed 3rd in the discus and Caden Wendt 4th. Sander threw for a season best distance to date, of 114-feet 5 inches. Wendt’s best dis- tance was 109-10.35. Jaxon Sander placed 3rd in the high jump with a best jump of 4-10 and Gage Walshire placed fourth in the long jump with a season best distance of 16-feet 1-inch. In the shot put, Caden Wendt placed second with a best throw of 50-feet 8 inches and JT Cash had a sea- son best throw at 34-feet 5 inches to place 8th.
North Cedar had three relay events place in the top-3 at the meet. The Knights shuttle hurdle relay team placed second in 1:12.96. North Cedar placed third in a pair of relay events. North Cedar was third in the sprint medley relay in 1:43.57 and third in the 4X400-meter relay in a time of 4:42.09.
