2018 Paradise Jam Field Announced

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women’s basketball team will be headed for warmer climates for the 2018 Thanksgiving holiday season as the Boilermakers were announced as part of the 2018 Paradise Jam tournament field. This will mark the third-ever trip for the Old Gold & Black to the University of the Virgin Islands for their annual tournament in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and their first since advancing to the championship game in 2012.

The 2018 women’s field is stacked, featuring Kentucky, North Carolina, Ole Miss, South Florida, St. John’s, UCLA, and UConn. UConn and the Boilermakers met in the 2012 championship game, with the second-ranked Huskies taking the title, after Purdue took down Marist and Wake Forest in the first two rounds. Purdue went winless in its first-ever trip to the tournament, falling to No. 8 Duke, Temple and Old Dominion in 2007.

“We’re very excited to be returning to the beautiful island of St. Thomas,” tournament director Jennifer Ashby said. “The teams we’ve brought in for the 2018 tournament are incredibly talented and showcase some of the best athletes in college basketball. We look forward to welcoming them to the U.S. Virgin Islands and hope that our return to the islands can be a part of the rebuilding and healing process for the community.”

Game times and matchups for the 2018 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam will be announced later this spring, following the conclusion of the 2017-18 basketball season. All 24 games of the men’s and women’s Paradise Jam will stream live on FloHoops at www.FloHoops.com.
