Tigers Dominate Davenport North In 7th Dual WIn Of Year

  TIPTON — The Tipton swimming team won 10 events and scored 119 team points in a 119-28 win over Davenport North last Thursday. It was the second meet win in a week’s time and set the Tigers dual record at 7-1 this season. Tipton has two more duals remaining this season. After a weekend invitational in Cedar Rapids Saturday, the Tigers will travel to Williamsburg Monday before hosting Fairfield on Monday, October 15 in their regular season finale.

  In individual events, Tipton sophomores Zoe Stonebraker and Maddie Swick each won four events. Two Tigers won three events. They were Ali Anderson and Rhyan Hoefler. Junior Britney Ford also won two events.

  Two Tigers won events for the first time this season. They were senior Artica Dykstra and sophomore Liz Bierman. Dykstra won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:31.51 and Bierman won the 50-yard freestyle in 29.33.

  The Tigers won the all three relay events at the meet. Tipton’s 200-yard IM team of Anderson, Ford, Swick and Hoefler won the event in a time of 2:01. The Tigers 200-yard freestyle relay team of Swick, Dykstra, Anderson and Stonebraker won in a time of 1:51.82. The Tigers 400-yard freestyle relay team of Hoefler, Anderson, Swick, and Stonebraker won the event in a time of 4:03.74.

  Zoe Stonebraker won the 200-yard IM in 2:29.62 and the 100-yard freestyle in 1:00.01, nearly getting under one-minute for the first time this season. Britney Ford won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:16.63. Ford has not been beaten in the event in the Tigers 8 dual meets this season.

  Other Tipton wins came from Dykstra in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:31.51, Bierman won the 50-yard freestyle in 29.33. Swick won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:04.23. Hoefler won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:58.09.
