WEST LIBERTY — The North Cedar Knight softball team traveled to Class 3A No. 6 West Liberty. The Comets had only lost one game this season and came into the game on an 8-game winning streak. There, the Knights fell 10-0 in ve innings. The Knights only played one game last week.
Alyssa Heffelfi nger took the loss after working 4 1/3 innings of work. She struck out ve and walked four Comet batters. Heffelfinger surrendered nine hits and 10 runs, of which, six were earned. North Cedar’s hit came from lead-o hitter Alyssa Barn- hart.
West Liberty had 10 hits in the game. Haylee Lehman, Austyn Crees, and Janey Gingerich each had two hits. Crees and Gin- gerich each had 2 RBI’s. The Knights got their rst look at Louisa-Muscatine transfer and All-Stater Isabelle True. True pitched a one-hitter in ve innings of work. She struck out 11 North Cedar batters and did not walk anyone. West Liberty took a 1-0 lead after two innings of play. In the fourth, the Comets sent 11 batters to the plate and scored six runs to take control of the game.
