TIPTON — The Tipton softball team showed a lot of ght in their RVC South doubleheader loss to Class 3A No. 6 West Liberty last Thursday. The Tigers gave the ranked Comets all they could handle in the rst game, a 10-5 loss in nine innings. West Liberty beat Tipton 17-2 in the second game.
Morgan Wendel took the loss in game one after nine innings. She struck out ve and walked two. She gave up 14 hits and 10 runs. Britney Ford was 3-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Laken Hermiston and Kaylea Claussen each had two hits. Bryanna Simmermaker, Grace Nicols added singles. West Liberty had 14 hits. Hay- lee Lehman was 5-for-5 with a triple, RBI, 2 stolen bases, and three runs scored. Gingerich and Hall each had three hits and Macy Akers had a pair of hits and drove in three runs.
In game two, Morgan Wendel took the loss after the Tigers fell 17-2 in ve innings. Wen- del gave up 17 runs on 13 hits while walking eight.
Tipton had one hit in the game an RBI single by Laken Hermiston.
