LOWDEN — The North Cedar baseball team welcomed Camanche to town last Monday, June 17 for a conference doubleheader. There, the Knights fell twice to the Indians by scores of 8-0 in game one and 14-3 in game two. North Cedar collected ten hits and scored three runs in the two games.
In game one, North Cedar was shutout for just the second time this season in the 8-0 loss. North Cedar had only four hits in the game. Ja- cob Wagner was 2-for-3 and Devon Willis and Jaxon Sander each had hits. Sander had a double. Brennen Kreel, James Garner, and Sander each reached base via a walk.
Camanche scored early and often in the game putting up three runs in each of the rst two innings to take a commanding 6-0 lead. That score held until the top of the seventh when Camanche added two runs to set the score at 8-0.
Taden Lange started and took the loss. He went ve innings and gave up six runs, three earned, on six hits. He struck out one and walked five. Chase Miller pitched two innings in relief.
In game two, the Knights had six hits and scored three runs. Jaxon Sander was 2-for-3 in the game to lead North Cedar. Tyler Jackson, Jacob Wagner, Devon Willis, and Gage Walshire each had hits. James Garner had a RBI in the game and Ethan Sahr had two of the ve walks issued to North Cedar batters.
Cole Taylor started and took the loss in 3 1/3 innings of work. He gave up six runs on seven hits and struck out three batters. Alex Woodward, Tyler Thurston, and Devon Willis all pitched in relief.
