Beavers Second In Team Standings At West Branch

WEST BRANCH — The Wilton Beaver girl’s track team were runners-up at a meet in West Branch last Thursday.  There, the Beavers scored 128 points behind meet winner West Branch who scored 144 team points.  The two River Valley Conference schools were far out in front of the other teams there, as Lone Tree finished third with 79 points, 49 points in back of the Beavers.

Individually, two Beavers won multiple events.  Kortney Drake won three events while Kaylee Ford won two events.  Drake won the long jump with a best jump of 15-07.5, the 200-meter dash in 27.50 and the 400-meter dash in 1:02.35.  Ford won the 1,500-meter run in 5:55.58 and the 3,000-meter run in 12:25.31.

Wilton did well in the relay events with six top-5 relay team finishes.  The Beavers placed third in four relay events, the 4X400-, 4X800, the sprint medley and the distance medley relay events.
