Knights Nearly Win Wildcat Relays

DURANT — The Durant Wildcat Relays were held last Tuesday when eight teams got another chance to see what they have this season.  There, the North Cedar Knights nearly won the 8-team meet, scoring 147 points and winning two events.
The Knights won two events at the meet.  Aaron Woodward won the shot put event with a best throw of 46-feet.  Woodward continues to remain in the top-5 in the RVC in the event.  Seamus Raney also won the 400-meter dash.  Raney won the event in a time of 52.73.  Raney has the third best time in the RVC in the event.
North Cedar had two runner-up finishes in individual events.  Raney was second in the 800-meter run while Treat Spahr was second in the 400-meter hurdles.  
Greg Hansen had a pair of 3rd place finishes.  Hansen was third in the 100-meter dash in 11.80 and third in the high jump with the best jump of 5-feet, 8 inches.  Bryce Bemer placed 3rd in the 200-meter dash and Miles McCullough was 3rd in the 400-meter dash.
The Knights had a successful night in relay events.  Four of the relay events for North Cedar resulted in a second or third place finish.  North Cedar’s 4X100-meter relay team of Jacob Jensen, Bryce Bemer, Miles McCullough and Hansen were second in 45.0.  North Cedar’s 4X800-meter relay team of Raney, Carter Johnson, Byron Boleyn and Cory Cox were second in 9:13.06.  
North Cedar’s shuttle hurdle relay team of Treat Spahr, Miles McCullough, Dragon Cinkovich and Ethan Sahr was third in 1:09.48 and the Knights sprint medley relay team of Spahr, Colin Sander, Bemer and Jensen were third in 1:44.00.

Reifert Part Of Three Winners For Wilton
Wilton senior Even Reifert won two individual events and was part of a winning relay event for the Beavers at the meet.  Wilton placed 6th in the team race with 58 points.
Reifert won two individual events.  Reifert won the long jump with a best jump of 21-feet, 10 inches.  That jump vaulted Reifert to the top of the RVC leaders in the long jump event.  Reifert also won the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.26.  That time is also is the top time in the RVC at the event.  Reifert was also on the Beavers winning sprint medley relay team.  The team of Garrett Bohnsack, Chase Miller, Ashton Stoelk and Reifert won the event in a time of 1:41.93.  Wilton’s Buddy Darting also won an event at the meet.  Darting outlasted Durant’s Nathan Prunchak to win the event in a time of 5:05.22.
Isaac Hunter placed 9th in the 1,600-meter run and Drake Hayes nearly cracked the top-10 with an 11th place finish in the 400-meter dash.

Wildcats Win The 4X400-meter relay
The highlight of their own Wildcat Relays was winning the 4X400-meter relay event.  The team of Bruce Dillabough, Tony Friederichs, Zach Hein and Nathan Prunchak won the event.  The Wildcats placed 7th in the team race with 54 points, four out of sixth place.
The Wildcats scored a lot of their points in the field events.  Two separate events had two, top-10 finishers.  Brothers Cale and Dawson Frett were 3rd and 10th respectively in the discus.  Cale was third with a best throw of 118-feet 6 inches while Dawson was 10th with a throw of 96-feet.  In the long jump, Carter Voelkers placed 5th with a best jump of 18-feet, 9.5 inches while Cameron Hoon placed 10th with a best jump of 16-05.5.  Dawson Frett also placed 3rd in the shot put with a best throw of 40-5.
Nathan Prunchak had a pair of top-5 finishes.  Prunchak was second to Wilton’s Buddy Darting in the 1,600-meter run in 5:05.61.  Prunchak was 4th in the 3,200-meter run in 11:05.91.  BRuce Dillabough placed 5th in the 800-meter run and Zach Hein was 8th in the 1,600-meter run. The Wildcats placed 7th in the 4X200-meter and Sprint Medley Relay events.
