TIPTON — The Tipton girl’s swimming team won their second meet in five days last Monday. The Tigers swam in the first of three home meets this season, hosting the Williamsburg Raiders. There, the Tigers beat Williamsburg 105 to 59. The Tigers won all 11 events in scoring their highest point total in a dual this season. The Tigers were back in the pool this past Saturday at the Muscatine Invitational.
Four Tiger swimmers each won four events and another won three events. Winning four events were Zoe Stonebraker, Ali Anderson, Rhyan Hoefler and Maddie Swick. Britney Ford won three events at the meet.
Anderson and Hoefler were each on all three relay event wins for the Tigers, the 400-yard freestyle, the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-IM. Stonebraker was on the winning 400-yard freestyle and the 200-yard IM relays and Swick was on the winning 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Anderson added a win in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:12.11. Hoefler added a win in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.99.
Stonebraker collected two other wins, one in the 50-yard freestyle (27.22) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:01.17). Swick also won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:00.48.
Ford won two individual events and was on the Tigers winning 200-yard medley relay. Ford won the 200-yard individual medley event in a time of 2:38.90. Ford also won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:15.76.
Sara Webb won one event and added a second and a third place finish. Webb was on the Tigers winning 200-yard freestyle relay team that won the event. She was second in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:05.93 and third in the 200-yard individual medley event in a time of 2:45.34.
Two other Tiger swimmers placed third in events. Sophomore Liz Bierman had a pair of third-place finishes, one in the 50-yard freestyle and another in the 100-yard breaststroke.
