Tim Keating Named Coordinator of IGHSAU Volleyball Officials

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union announced that it has named Tim Keating as its coordinator of officials for volleyball. 
“We are thrilled to have Tim Keating coordinating our volleyball officials,” said IGHSAU Executive Director Jean Berger. “Tim knows volleyball as well as anyone. He is well respected by volleyball coaches and officials across the midwest.”
Keating will serve as the IGHSAU liaison for volleyball officials in Iowa. He is responsible for the identification, training, evaluation and selection of officials for the IGHSAU volleyball postseason series. In addition to assigning, Keating will work with official organizations, conference and local assigning groups and will be the primary contact for NFHS rule interpretations. 
“I am extremely honored to work alongside the wonderful group at the IGHSAU,” said Keating. “The IGHSAU provides a professional environment and exhibits a genuine care for every administrator, coach, official, player and fan involved in high school athletics in the state of Iowa.  In line with the mission of the Girls Union, our dedicated advisory committee and the quality officials we have in this state, we will work to develop an education and evaluation process that will continue to enhance the quality and grow the number of officials we have to offer.”
An Iowa native, Keating has been involved in the sport of volleyball as an administrator, official, coach and player for 13 years and has been around the sport his entire life.  He is currently the Club Director of Adrenaline Volleyball Academy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  His responsibilities include organizing day-to-day operations, financial operations and developing programming for youth volleyball. Keating was an IGHSAU volleyball official for five years, held a PAVO certification, officiated at the Division III, NJCAA and NAIA level. He was a Certified Line Judge in the NCAA, Big Ten and Big 12 Conferences.
Keating spent four years as an administrator and Director of Events for Club Fusion Volleyball in Marengo, Ill.  His responsibilities at Fusion included managing all volleyball tournaments hosted by the club which included marketing events and hiring and assigning officials for each match.  He spent three years as a coach at Keith Country Day High School in Rockford, Illinois where his Keith Cougars achieved back to back IHSA State Championships in 2012 and 2013.
