The Beavers scored a variety of ways in the first quarter, on the ground, in the air and defensively. Colby Sawvell started the scoring with a 36-yard run. Jackson Hull intercepted a Ty Schmidt pass and returned the ball 46 yards for a touchdown and a 16-0 lead. Wilton’s last score of the opening quarter came on a 19-yard touchdown pass from Mason Ormsby to Patrick Barszczewski set the score at 22-0 after the first quarter.
Wilton scored two more touchdowns in the second quarter. Sawvell caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from Ormsby and Coy Baker added the Beavers second defensive touchdown on a 27-yard fumble recovery for a score. Those touchdowns helped Wilton take a 38-0 halftime lead. The second half featured a continuous clock situation. Wilton extended their lead to 46-0 in the third quarter when Jackson Hull had a 2-yard touchdown run. The Rebels scored late on a Ty Schmidt run to avoid the shutout.
Wilton had 268 yards of total offense with 156 rushing and 112 passing yards. Northeast had only 83 yards of total offense as the Beavers held Northeast to only 23 rushing yards.
Mason Ormsby passed for 112 yards and two touchdowns. Colby Sawvell caught four passes for 60 yards as four Beaver players caught a pass in the game. Jackson Hull rushed for 69 yards on nine carries and had a touchdown run. Ormsby added 53 yards on 14 carries.
