Knights collect two road RVC wins

 GOOSE LAKE — The North Cedar Knight volleyball team improved to 2-1 against RVC North foes last week with a 3-0 win at Goose Lake on Thursday, September 17. This came two days after winning their first RVC North match, a 3-1 win at Camanche. The Knights will play once this week, a home match against Anamosa Tuesday night.

 North Cedar beat the Rebels by scores of 25-23, 25-11, and 25-20. The wins were their third in their last four matches. North Cedar has RVC North matches with Cascade on October 1 and Bellevue on October 3.

 Against the Rebels, North Cedar had 34 kills in 99 attack attempts. Emma Boelyn had 10 kills in 15 attacks while Kayla Paup had 6. Sydney Dennis had 24 assists and Kassidie Galloway had 13 digs. North Cedar served 66-for-72 as a team with 11 team aces. Dennis and Galloway each were 14-for-14 with an ace serve. Jenna Syring also served 10-for-12 with 3 aces.

 The North Cedar volleyball team won a four-set match at Camanche on September 19. It was their first RVC North win of the season. North Cedar won the first set 25-16 and the second set 25-19 to take a 2-0 match lead. Camanche won the third set 29-27 to set the score at 2-1 Knights, but North Cedar finished o the Indians in the fourth set, winning 25-20.

 North Cedar had 48 kills in 131 attacks. Kelley Proesch had a season-best 18 kills and Andrea Wachendorf added 13 for North Cedar. Sydney Dennis had 36 assists and Kassidie Galloway had 29 digs for the Knights. North Cedar had 16 team blocks and served 90-for-99 with 13 aces. Galloway led Knight servers, going 22-for-24 with 5 aces.

Knights Go 3-2 At Springville Weekend Tournament
SPRINGVILLE — The North Cedar volleyball team traveled to Springville on Saturday, September 21 for their second to last weekend tournament. There, the Knights played ve matches, winning three and losing two. The Knightsrecordnowstandsat13-9. NorthCedarbeatTri- Rivers Conference foes Springville 2-1 and Central City 2-0. TheKnightsbeatRVCNorthfoeCascade2-1. North Cedar lost to Belle Plaine out of the SICL and Jesup out of the NICL.
North Cedar beat Springville 26-28, 25-17 and 15-11. North Cedar beat Central City by twin scores of 21-15. North Cedar beat Cascade by scores of 21-13, 20-22, and 15-12.
