Tigers go 1-1 at Linn-Mar duals

 MARION — The Tipton swimming team nished up a grueling week with three meets in less than a week’s time last Thursday at the Linn-Mar dual meet. There, the Tigers su ered their rst dual loss this season to the host Lions. Linn-Mar beat both the Tigers and Vinton- Shellsburg. Tipton got the split in the two duals, beating Vinton-Shells- burg 50 to 44.

 Tipton won two events at the meet. Rhyan Hoe er won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:06.38, a new season-best time. The Tigers won the 400-yard freestyle relay event. The team Zoe Stonebraker, Ali Anderson, Maddie Swick, and Rhyan Hoe er touched the wall rst in a time of 4:01.81.

 The Tigers got runner-up nishes in the 50-yard freestyle, the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard backstroke. Stonebraker was second in the 50-free in 26.68. Swick was second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.58. Anderson was second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:08.92. Britney Ford picked up two third-place nishes. Ford was third in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:05.29 and third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:17.79.
