Wilton starts 5-0 with wins at Easton Valley

PORT BYRON, IL — The Durant Wildcat volleyball team fell in their 2019 season opener on Tuesday, August 27 in Port Byron, Illinois. There, Durant lost to Riverdale 2-1 in three sets. The Wildcats will be back on the court Thursday when they host Mid-Prairie in their River Valley Conference opener. The Wildcats will travel to Class 3A No. 3 Tipton on September 12.

Durant lost the rst set 25-10, but evened the match at 1-1 by winning the second set, 25-21. Riverdale claimed the match 2-1 with a third set win, 25-18.

Durant had 26 kills in the match on 94 attacks. Kira Schult and Ally Happ led Durant with 8 and 5 respectively. Meg Koenig had 25 assists 12 digs and served 12-for-14. Brooklyn Bullard had a team high 14 digs while Happ added 11. The Wild- cats served 41-for-54 in the match with four ace serves.
The Wildcats roster has four seniors this year. They are Meg Koenig, Danielle Paulsen, Kira Schult, and Gabrielle Olsen.
