Beavers finish RVC season 7-1, co-champs
 WILTON — The Wilton volleyball team finished the River Valley Conference season 7-1 after a 3-0 sweep over Northeast last Thursday at home. The Beavers honored seniors McKenzie Pallischeck and Taylor Garvin on a senior night. The win set the Beavers record at 24-2 on the season. The only RVC loss this year for Wilton was to Tipton in late September.
 The Beavers are currently ranked No. 4 in Class 2A. The Beavers won the first set 25-11 to take a 1-0 match lead and took a commanding 2-0 match lead with a 25-12 second set win. Wilton dominated the third set 25-5 to claim the match 3-0. Northeast has had a rough 2019 season. The Rebels finished the RVC season 0-8 in conference matches and are still looking for their first win of the season as the schedule heads to the RVC Tournament and then the postseason.
 Kelsey Drake had 11 kills, 12 assists, 10 digs, and served 15-for-15 with an ace to lead Wilton.
Ella Caffery added 10 kills, 15 assists, 12 digs, and served 14-for-14 with a pair of aces. As a team, Wilton served 69-for-71 with six ace serves.

Wildcats Finish RVC Season 3-5
 DURANT — The Durant volleyball team dropped a tough five-set match to RVC North foe Anamosa last Thursday, October 10. The loss dropped the Wildcats record to 3-5 in the River Valley Conference.
 Durant lost the first set 25-16 but tied the match at 1-1 by winning the second set 25-22. Durant took a 2-1 match lead after winning the third set 25-21. Anamosa forced a fifth set, winning the fourth set 25-21. In the fifth set, the Raiders won the set 15-11 to claim the match 3-2.
 Kira Schult had 10 kills, 11 digs and served 20-for-21 with an ace to lead Durant. Meg Koenig had 25 assists, 14 digs, five kills, and served 14-for-16 with two aces. Durant served 88-for-99 with eight ace serves. Ally Happ led Durant, going 26-for-26 with an ace serve.

Knights Fall To State Ranked Comets In RVC Finale
 CLARENCE — The North Cedar Knights took the No. 2 ranked team in Class 3A, West Liberty, to four sets last week. The result, a tough 3-1 loss. North Cedar fell to 5-3 in the River Valley Conference. The Knights finished the 2019 RVC season second behind Cascade. The Knights lost to Cascade earlier this month. The match with the Comets was the final regular season RVC match.
 North Cedar gave the Comets a game in the first set before falling 25-23. The Comets took a 2-0 match lead, winning the second set 25-12. North Cedar got a set win in the third, 25-23 to set the score at 2-1. West Liberty would claim the match, winning the fourth set, 25-18.
 North Cedar had 41 kills in the match. Kelley Proesch had 17 and Andrea Wachendorf 10. Sydney Dennie had 33 assists, 17 digs and served 10-for-11 with two aces. Kassidie Galloway had 21 digs, leading four players with double-digit totals. The Knights had eight blocks in the match led by Emma Boleyn with six. The Knights served 72-for-79 with 10 aces in the match. Wachendorf served 16-for-18 with four aces and Kayla Syring served 15-for-15 with an ace.
