Mid-Prairie Joins Monticello As Only Repeat Champs
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks joined RVC North Division foe Monticello as the only schools to repeat as RVC girl’s cross-country champions. The RVC is in its seventh year of existence. Monticello won three straight titles from 2014-1016. The Golden Hawks have won the last two meets. There was no conference meet in 2018. Mid-Prairie won the team title in 2017 and this year. Cascade won the first girl’s RVC crown in 2013. Mid-Prairie has not finished in the top-3 of the standings only once, and that was the first year of the RVC in 2013 when they placed seventh. Iowa City Regina has not finished lower than fourth at any of the six RVC meets, yet the Regals have not won a team title. Regina was the runner-up in 2013 and 2014.

Tipton turned in their best RVC conference meet finish this year with a 4th place finish. Their previous best finish was three straight years of sixth-place finishes in 2015, 2016 and 2017. North Cedar snapped a two-meet run of placing in the top-5. The Knights were fifth in both the 2016 and 2017 conference meets. The Beavers of Wilton placed eighth in the team race for the second straight year. Durant placed 10th for the second time in three years.
