Wilton sweeps at Washington tournament

  WASHINGTON — The Wilton volleyball team finished off their regular season schedule with three wins at the Washington Tournament. The Beavers only lost one-weekend tournament game this season and that was to Class 3A No. 1 Davenport Assumption late last month. The Beavers improved to 28-2 with the victories and Wilton has won seven matches in a row. The Beavers are ranked No. 4 In Class 2A and have not lost a set during their current win streak.
  Wilton beat Sigourney-Keota 2-0 by twin scores of 21-11. Wilton had eleven service aces and served well in the match as a team, going 39-for-40. Taylor Garvin had six kills while Ella Caffery, Kelsey Drake, and Alexa Garvin each had four. Caffery had 10 assists and Drake six. Alexa Garvin had 11 digs and Mallory Lange nine.
  Wilton rolled through Tri-Country, by a 2-0 score. Set scores were 21-3 and 21-5. Wilton
served a perfect 39-for-39 with nine aces. Alexa Garvin was 16-for-16 with three aces and Kelsey Drake was 10-for-10 with four aces. Drake had five of Wilton’s 17 kills. Ella Caffery had 13 assists and Alexa Garvin had eight digs and Mallory Lange had seven.
  In their final match, Wilton beat Washington 25-6 and 25-10. The Beavers served 46-for-47 with six aces as a team. Ella Caffery was 13-for-13 with an ace, Kelsey Drake was 11-for-11 with three aces, and Taylor Garvin was 10-for-10 with two aces. Drake had seven kills and Caffery had ten assists. Lange led in digs with 12.
 
Durant struggles at home tournament
DURANT — The Durant volleyball team struggled in their home tournament matches last Saturday winning one of their four matches. Durant lost to Maquoketa, Grinnell and Fort Madison. Durant beat Davenport
West.
