Wildcats and Beavers run at Marquette meet

 BELLEVUE — The Durant Wildcats and Wilton Beaver cross-country teams ran at the Bellevue Invitational on Monday, October 6. Wilton placed in each team race while Durant had runners at the meet for both boys and girls, but did not have enough to score in the team races.
 On the girl’s side, Wilton placed third with 98 points. Prince of Peace won the meet with 34 points and Bellevue Marquette was the runner-up with 43 points. Charlotte Brown, Abby Brown and Emmy Drake led Wilton with top-20 finishes. Durant had four runners at the meet and were led by Carlie Jo Fusco who placed ninth in 22:55.
 On the boy’s side, Wilton placed fourth with 103 points. Camanche won the meet with 53 points with Calamus-Wheatland second and Bellevue third. Zach Hein led Wilton with a fourth-place finish in 17:14. Durant’s Drake Shelangoski led four Wildcat runners with a 13th place finish in 18:48.

Beavers Run At Jim Hetrick Invitational
 DEWITT — The Wilton boy’s and girl’s cross-country teams ran at the annual Jim Hetrick Invitational last Thursday, October 10.
 On the boy’s side, Wilton placed 14th at the meet. Zach Hein placed 12th in 17:12 to lead the way. Jake Walton placed 67th. Other Wilton finishers were Ethan Bailey 75th, Gavin Reid 92nd, Connor Bierman 100th, Colby Brown 102nd, and Cameron Keith 108th.
 On the girl’s side, Wilton placed 13th as a team. Charlotte Brown was the top Wilton finisher with a 57th place finish in 24:01. Abby Brown placed 62nd in 24:13 to give Wilton two, top-70 finishers. Ansley Boorn and Rachel Hunter placed 78th and 79th. Michaela Breed placed 81st and Jayden Eversen placed 82nd.
