GOOSE LAKE — Durant snapped a five-match losing streak, beating RVC North foe Northeast on Thursday, September 26 at Goose Lake. The Wildcats improved to 3-3 in the RVC with the win and 3-7 overall.
Against the Rebels, Durant beat the Rebels 25-20 in the first set, 25-23 in the second set and 25-23 in the third set. Durant had 28 kills in the match with Kira Schult leading with nine and Rylie Rock with five. Meg Koenig had 22 assists, 11 digs and 15-for-15 with one-ace. Kira Schult and Gabrielle
Olsen had 17 and 13 digs.
Against the Comets, Durant fell in three sets to the state ranked team. West Liberty won the first set 25-10 and second set 25-7 to take a commanding lead. Durant played their best set in the third, scoring 16 points, but fell 25-16 as the Comets completed the 3-0 sweep.
Kira Schult had four kills and seven digs to lead Durant. Meg Koeing had 12 assists. Durant served 26-for-34 with three aces in the match. Koenig led, going 10-for-11 with two ace serves.
