Tigers fall to Davenport Central despite winning six events
 TIPTON — The Tipton swimming team won over half of the events in their dual meet with Davenport Central on Monday, September 23, but did not win the meet. Though Tipton won six events, Davenport Central used their larger roster to collect 101 team points to the Tigers 65 points.  The Tigers were swimming with under ten athletes and Davenport Central had closer to 20 swimmers.
 The Tigers swim twice this week, both on the road. The Tigers will travel to Davenport North Thursday and Williamsburg next Monday, October 7 before traveling to Cedar Rapids Washington on Saturday, October 12. The Tigers swam at Fairfield on Monday, September 30.
 Tipton won all three relay events at the meet. The Tigers relay team of Ali Anderson, Maddie Swick, Rhyan Hoefler, and Zoe Stonebraker won the event in a time of 2:03.28. The Tigers 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hoefler, Anderson, Swick, and Stonebraker won in a time of 1:49.80. The relay was just over 1-second from setting a new season-best time. The Tigers also won the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Stonebraker, Anderson, Swick, and Hoefler won the event in a time of 4:32.28.
 In individual events, Zoe Stonebraker won the 50-yard freestyle event in 26.79, Maddie Swick won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.65, and Ali Anderson won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:00.41. Stonebraker was close to setting a season-best time in the event, missing by 0.11. Swick’s time in the butterfly was also nearly a season-best time, missing by just 0.40. Anderson swam in the 100-yard freestyle for the first time this year and collected the third-best time by a THS swimmer this season with a finish in 1:00.41. She nearly broke the 1-minute mark to become the third Tiger to break the minute mark this year in the 100-free. Rhyan Hoefler and Zoe Stonebraker are the others who have.
 Tipton collected four runner-up finishes at the meet. THS senior Sara Webb had two runner-up finishes, one in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:15.90 and the other in the 200-yard IM in 2:47.86. Rhyan Hoefler was second in the 200-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 2:04.84. Her previous best was 2:06.38 on September 19. Kayley Clark also placed second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:31.80.
