North Cedar falls at Beckman, 35-26

  DYERSVILLE — The North Cedar Knights had a chance to play the spoiler role last Friday when
they traveled to Dyersville-Beckman. The Blazers were trying to stay in the hunt for the second spot
in the district with a big game at West Branch in week 9. They did. Beckman would improve to
5-3 overall and 2-2 in the district with a 35-26 win over the Knights. Beckman is now tied with
Cascade at 2-2 in the district, but still a game out of the second place where Bellevue is at 3-1. North
Cedar fell to 4-4 overall and 1-3 in district play. The Knights can still secure a winning season this
Friday when they host Northeast (1-7 overall, 0-4 in district) for their regular-season finale. The Knights lost their third straight game after starting the season 4-1. The Knights also saw their district losing streak stretch to three straight. The 26 points scored by the Knights were a high for a district game so far this year and the second-highest total this season to date for all games played.
  Knight senior quarterback Ethan Sahr passed for 297 yards on 14 completions and had four touchdown passes. All are season-high totals. For the season, Sahr has thrown for 1,572 yards with 15 touchdown passes and eight interceptions. His top target in the game was junior Kael Unruh who
caught five passes for 203 yards and four touchdowns. Gage Walshire caught four passes for 33
yards. Four North Cedar receivers had at least two catches and five different Knights caught a
pass in the game. Brody Hawtrey and Tyler Jackson rushed for 50 and 45 yards in the game and
each averaged over three yards per carry.
  Defensively, Gage Walshire led North Cedar with 13 tackles including seven solo tackles. Tyler
Thurston had 12 tackles with seven solo tackles. Tyler Jackson and Brody Hawtrey each had eight
tackles.

Rebels Come To Town Friday
 The Northeast Rebels will come to town on Friday in week nine. The Rebels have lost their last four
games after winning their only 2019 games to date in week four over Alburnett 27-0.
Northeast quarterback Riley Wolfe is 48 yards away from topping 1,000 this season (952) and
had eight touchdown passes to ten interceptions. Dakota Stevenson leads Northeast in rushing with 636 yards on 154 carries and five touchdowns. Trey McAleer and Cade Hughes led Rebel receivers with 356 yards and 343 yards respectively. Hughes leads Northeast in tackles with 69.
