Tigers win on parents night, 3-0 over Monticello

 TIPTON — It was parents night at THS on Thursday, September 26 when the Tiger volleyball team hosted RVC North foe Monticello in a RVC cross-division match. There, the Tigers made quick work of the Panthers with a 3-0 match sweep. Tipton improved to 5-1 in RVC matches. The Tigers have only two conference matches left. The first is this Thursday for senior night when West Branch comes to town. The other is at Camanche on Thursday, October 10. The loss was the fifth straight for Monticello who fell to 13-8 overall with the loss. The Panthers slipped to 2-3 in RVC matches.
 Tipton won the first set 25-14 to take a 1-0 match lead. The Tigers won the second set 25-19 to take a commanding 2-0 match lead. The Tigers completed the sweep with a third set win 25-15.
 Tipton had 35 kills in the match on 83 attack attempts. Sommer Daniel and Bailey Schmidt led THS with 10 and 9 kills. Daniel had 19 assists and Karlee Kamberling 13 digs to lead Tipton. Tipton served 67-for-74 with ten ace serves. Daniel led Tipton, serving 22-for-23 with 4 aces while Alex Hoffman and Kamerling were next, going 10-for-11 with four combined ace serves. Hoffman also had 9 assists in the match.
